A native of Maalot, Israel, like men's captain Arthur Urman, Anastasia Ferdman heads into her sophomore season looking to claim her second All-America honor and make a run at the national women's epee title.

Lion Career:
2006-07: Ferdman was simply outstanding as a freshman. She led both men's and women's teams with 53 dual match wins (and posted a superb .855 winning percentage in the process). Ferdman won the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional title and placed fourth at nationals to earn All-America honors as a true freshman. Ferdman posted dual match records of 12-2, 17-3, 14-0 and 10-4.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Ferdman is an experienced international fencer who has placed as high as third at the Junior World Championships. She fenced for the Maccabi Maalot Fencing club and is a graduate of Ort Maalot High School.
