Sophomore Keri Byerts heads into her second season on the women's epee squad looking to improve upon a solid dual match season in 2006-07. Byerts will be looking to earn her first trip to the NCAA Championships in 2008.

Lion Career:
2006-07: Byerts posted a 16-4 record in dual matches last year, seeing spot time as a starter in the epee. Byerts finished seventh at Regionals to miss out on a shot at competing at nationals. She recorded dual match records of 11-1 in December4 and 5-3 in February.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Byerts was a member of the 2005 U.S. World Team and was a finalist at the World Championships that year. In 2006, she moved back to Webster, N.Y., and finished second at U.S. Summer Nationals. She fenced for the Rochester Fencing Center and was a five-time U.S. World Team qualifier (2001 through 2006).
