Sophomore John Laboranti will, like a bevy of other Penn State big men, be looking to fill some mighty big shoes as 2007 National Finalist Aaron Anspach was not given another year of eligibility to fully finish out his collegiate career. A transfer from Virginia Tech prior to last season, Laboranti is a talented heavyweight who will be a strong contender to step into the starting role and help anchor Penn State's HWT spot, both in duals and tournaments. Lion Career: 2006-07: Red-shirted last year after transferring from Virginia Tech. Hokie Career: 2005-06: Went 8-8 overall...1-4 in dual matches...picked up two pins and two major decisions...dual match win was a non-conference major decision. High School/Personal: A Pittston High School grad...the Scranton native placed third and eighth at states during high school career...finished second at FILA Junior Nationals last year...was a four-time Junior Nationals All-American.
