Bill Dorenkott Resigns as Penn State Head Swimming Coach
Penn State head men's and women's swimming coach Bill Dorenkott today announced his resignation to accept the position of head women's swimming coach at Ohio State. Dorenkott departs following 13 years of service at Penn State, including 10 years as the women's head coach and seven years as the men's head coach. Dorenkott led the women's program to its first Big Ten Championships, coming in 2002, 2005 and 2006. Read More >>

Basil Kaaki Qualifies for Beijing Olympics at FINA World Championships
Basil Kaaki, a current sophomore on the men's swimming team, qualified for this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing, China this past weekend with his performance at the ninth FINA World Swimming Championships (25 meters) that were held in Manchester, Great Britain. Kaaki represented Lebanon in the meet as he has in several international competitions in the past and met the qualifying standards for Lebanon for the Olympics. Read More >>

Penn State Student-Athletes Earn 54 Academic All-Big Ten Winter Honors
Fifty-four Nittany Lion student-athletes, representing seven winter sports, have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. Penn State's 54 honorees ranks second among Big Ten institutions and brings the Lions' all-time total to 2,933 over the last 14 years, including 135 selections during the 2007-2008 school year.
