Summer 2007: Swam in four different events at the Charlotte Ultraswim of the Grand Prix series, participating in both breaststroke events, the 200 IM and on the eighth place 400 medley relay team. 2006-07: In his first year at Penn State after transferring from Maryland, Kevin was the second option behind Kyle Miranda in the breaststroke events. He logged the second fastest times on the team during the season in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. On the year, 12 of his 18 swims came in either breaststroke event. His best finish on the year was a pair of second places and he also had one third and two fourth place finishes. He set a career best time in the 100 breast. Maryland (Freshman): Kevin swam in the 200 free, 500 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast as a freshman at Maryland. His best time in the 200 was 1:47.26. His best time in the 100 breast of 1:00.73 was the fifth-fastest on the team and his best of 2:10.54 in the 200 breast was the fourth-best. His best place in a meet was 13th in the 200 breast at the Terp Cup. High School: Kevin was a four-year letterwinner at Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, Pa. He was a National Merit Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. Personal: Kevin was born on June 21, 1987 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son of Bill and Nancy Rybicki. He has on older sister Ellen and an older brother Brian, both of whom attended Penn State. He is majoring in physics with a minor in math and philosophy.
