2006-07: A breaststroke specialist, Kyle made his first career appearance at NCAAs after scoring for the second straight year in both breaststroke events at Big Ten Championships. He swam NCAA `B' times in both breaststroke events and was on both medley relay teams that also swam `B' times at Big Ten's. At NCAAs, Kyle swam in both breaststrokes and both medley relays, with a tie for 23rd in the 200 breast being his best finish. Both medley relay teams also finished 20th. Kyle hold the school records in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and last year had the top times on the team this year in both breaststroke events and the fifth-best time in the 200 IM. Has finished in the top five in every breaststroke race he swam during the year except for Big Ten's and NCAAs. He had three first place finishes, four second place finishes, eight third place finishes and four fourths. 2005-06: After competing in both freestyle and breaststroke events during his freshman season, Kyle concentrated mainly on the breaststroke events as well as the 200 IM during his sophomore season while only swimming in freestyle events sparingly. This paid off as he swam his four fastest career times in the 100 breaststroke as well as two of his three fastest times in the 200 IM. He also saw extensive time on several medley relay teams. At the Big Ten Championships, he picked up points for the Nittany Lions in the 100 breaststroke with a ninth place finish and in the 200 breaststroke with a 13th place finish. He also swam in the 200 IM, on the 200 and 400 medley relay teams at Big Ten's. On the year, Kyle won five individual races and was a part of five first place relay teams.
2004-05: Miranda contributed to a first place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:24.92) and later in the season opener against WVU he won the 200 breaststroke (2:05.44). He took three events against St. Bonaventure, winning the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.18), 200 medley relay (1:36.17) and an individual win in the 100 breaststroke (58.01). Against Ohio State, Miranda participated in five first place finishes; the 200 medley relay (1:33.38), 800 freestyle relay (6:51.78), 400 medley relay (3:26.17), 400 freestyle relay (3:04.60) and one individual win in the 100 backstroke (51.29). High School: Miranda competed in the Junior Nationals in 2003, placing fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07:02, and fifth in the 50 breaststroke in 30:06. In 2004, he placed twice in the Senior Nationals, taking 11th in the 100 breaststroke with 1:05:19, and 22nd in the 200 breaststroke with 2:24:64. He had his best finishes at the 2004 Colorado High School state championships, taking first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56:25 and second in the 200 IM in 1:52:09. MIranda was also a High School Academic All American. Personal: Kyle Miranda was born on August 18, 1985. His parents are John and Susan Miranda. He has two older sisters, Lauren and Josie.
