Two-time high school All-American Will Donley brings a lengthy list of high school accolades with him into his first season of collegiate lacrosse. A potential early factor on the Nittany Lion attack, Donley is a fast, physical and talented offensive threat who will look to challenge for a starting spot on the Penn State front line.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Donley was a four-time letterman at Pittsburgh's Central Catholic High School. He earned All-League honors for three straight seasons and All-American laurels as a junior and senior. Voted team captain as a junior and senior, Donley helped guide his team to a Division title in 2005 and a league title in 2006. A talented and versatile athlete, he also lettered in football for two straight years. Donley was president of the National Honor Society as he graduated No. 4 in his class academically. He also earned the Academic Achievement Award in English and plans on majoring in journalism at Penn State. He is the son of Maggie and Bill Donley and has a younger brother, Peter, and an older sister, Emma. Emma is a current Penn State student. His father is a Penn State grad and his mother was a Penn State cheerleader as well as a PSU grad.
COACHES VIEW:
"Will is a very versatile player. He can finish inside but carries the ball well and will be very effective on the perimeter. Will's forte will be as a finisher in transition and on the crease. Eventually, however, he could be helpful in the midfield." - Coach Thiel
