One of the nation's top prep quarterbacks during his stellar career at Downingtown East HS, Pat Devlin is looking forward to competing for playing time after taking a redshirt season as a true freshman in 2006. The 6-4 Devlin has excellent size and skills and was highly effective as the foreign team signal-caller last year. An intelligent and instinctive player, he is looking forward to challenging upperclassmen Anthony Morelli, Daryll Clark and Paul Cianciolo for opportunities to direct the offense. Devlin owns Pennsylvania's all-time prep career passing record with 8,162 yards. He was a 2005 Parade All-American, the state Class AAAA Player-of-the-Year and the Gatorade Pennsylvania Player-of-the-Year. Devlin quickly assimilated himself on the practice field and in the classroom during his first year, earning Dean's List accolades both semesters with a 3.85 grade-point average in the fall, followed by a superlative 3.92 GPA in the spring. One of the squad's premier students, he will be a candidate for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America and Academic All-Big Ten honors this year. Devlin is a vastly talented student-athlete with a very promising future.
