Brennan Coakley returned to the field last year after suffering a serious knee injury during his true freshman campaign in 2005. The 6-4, 249-pounder has good size and skills and has provided depth at tight end. Coakley is coming off a productive winter conditioning program and spring practice and is poised to play a larger role for the offense this year. He likely will battle Mickey Shuler, Jordan Lyons and Francis Claude for the top reserve spot behind returning starter Andrew Quarless.

2006 Sophomore Season
Coakley returned to the field after suffering a knee injury during his true freshman campaign in 2005. He saw playing against Northwestern and Temple and made good progress while providing depth at tight end.

2005 Freshman Season
Coakley suffered a serious knee injury in practice and was granted a medical redshirt season.

High School Coakley played football and basketball at Newtown HS. In his senior season, he played tight end and defensive end for Coach Ken Roberts' team. Coakley made 16 receptions and scored three touchdowns and made 40 tackles with four sacks. He transferred to Newtown from St. Joseph's HS prior to his senior season.
