Brent Carter is a promising redshirt freshman who gained experience at tailback and safety during his first season on the practice field as a Nittany Lion. He earned notice last fall as an effective member of the foreign team. Carter brings good size, skills and speed to the field. He ran for more than 2,700 yards, with 37 touchdowns, during his last two seasons at Pottsgrove

High School
Carter was a standout for Coach Rick Pennypacker at Pottsgrove HS. As a senior, he served as captain of the football and basketball teams. He earned first-team Philadelphia Inquirer All-Southeastern Pennsylvania honors, as well as first-team recognition from the Pottstown Mercury. During his senior season, he ran for more than 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns. As a junior, he rushed for 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns despite an ankle injury that limited his time. Carter ran for 97 yards and a touchdown in the 2006 Pennsylvania East-West All-Star game, playing alongside and against several future Nittany Lion teammates.
Personal
Full name is Brent Dlane Carter. He is one of five children, with three younger brothers and a younger sister. He is enrolled in the Division of Undergraduate Studies. Born January 17, 1988 in Pottstown, Pa.
