Sophomore Robert MacClaren will head into his sophomore campaign after a solid freshman season that saw him earn a starting spot. MacClaren is one of four returning starters in the foil, helping make the weapon one of Penn State's deepest.

LION CAREER: 2006-07: MacClaren went 21-9 as a freshman starter and placed 13th in his first trip to the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals. MacClaren notched dual match records of 7-3, 2-3, 6-1 and 6-2.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: A Shreyer's Honors College student, MacClaren placed in the top 13 at NAC Seniors this past April. MacClaren fenced for the Rochester Fencing Club. He also lettered in bowling for for years and helped guide McQuaid Jesuit to two league championships.
