2007 DuBois Men's Basketball


The 2007 PSUAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship was held at Bryce Jordan Center, University Park on March 9 and 10.

The DuBois Men and Delaware Women won the 2007 PSUAC titles, in one of the most competitive tournaments in PSUAC history.

Women's Semi-Final

Schuylkill defeated Harrisburg 65-61, in a very competitive game that was tied 30-30 at the half in one of the most intense games in the tournament. Nicole Adams and Sandra Adames led Harrisburg with 16 and 13 points. Katie James scored 17 for Schuylkill while Kristen Sweigert scored 15 points to lead Schuylkill to the championship.

In the second women's semi-final, Delaware defeated Penn College 66-35. Brittany Blessard led Penn College with 16 points. Delaware was led by Deanna Gineitis (15 points) and Cara Zibelman (13 points.)

Women's Championship

Delaware defeated Schuylkill 63-50 to win the Women's 2007 PSUAC crown. Cara Zibelman led Delaware with 21 points while teammate Deanna Gineitis had 17 for the winners. The game was halted for a special ceremony as Zibelman scored 5 three's hitting the 1,000 point milestone. Schuylkill's Katie James scored 20 and Ashley Grabish scored 11.

Men's Semi-Final

Abington defeated Hazelton 79-66 as Hazelton was led by Brett Ednie with 17 points and Kaiser Zamora with 16 points. Scott Brandt led Abington to the championship with 28 points and Jamal Oliver scored 19 points for the winning team.

DuBois defeated New Kensington 74-57, in the second men's semi-final. New Kensington's Mike Fisher led the team with 17 points and Jeremy Hurt scored 14. Jonny Songer lead DuBois with 5 three's while scoring 19 points followed by Marcus Genevro with 16 points.

Men's Championship

In another exciting game, DuBois defeated Abington 85-82 in double over-time to claim the 2007 PSUAC Men's Championship. DuBois was led to the championship as Marcus Genevro scored 32 points to lead all scorers in the conference while teammate Kyle Vogt scored 14. Abington was led by Jamal Oliver who had 25 points while his teammate Chris Caine scored 14.
