UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -

Davis Wins National Title, Jenkins Runner-up: Nittany Lions Third Overall
Penn State senior Phil Davis dominated Central Michigan's Wynn Michalak to win the national title at 197 last weekend. Davis, the second seed entering the weekend, made his second appearance in the national finals, and is only the fourth four-time All-American in Penn State history. Sophomore Bubba Jenkins also competed in the finals, falling to top-seeded Brent Metcalf of Iowa at 149 to finish at the national runner-up. The Nittany Lions finished third overall, the highest finish for Penn State since a third-place finish in 1994. Read more results here and send your congratulations to the team at here.

Nelson Swims to All-American Finish
Junior Kelly Nelson became the first All-American swimmer for Penn State since 2006, and the only this season, as she finished sixth in the 200 butterfly at the 2008 NCAA Championships. Sophomore Kailey Morris finished 13th in the 200 fly to earn her second straight honorable mention All-America honor. The team finished 29th, scoring points for the eighth consecutive year. Home Field Advantage
Home this week in University Park are softball, men's and women's lacrosse, track and field, men's tennis, and men's volleyball. Men's tennis competes against Michigan on Monday at 1, Minnesota and Lehigh on Friday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, and Iowa on Sunday at 3 p.m. Softball takes on Saint Francis (Pa.), on Wednesday in a doubleheader beginning at 7 p.m. in their home opener. Men's volleyball plays interstate-rival Ohio State on Friday and Ball State on Saturday, both matches are at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. Men's lacrosse faces UMass at noon Saturday, while the women's team plays Loyola (Md.) at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Additionally the men's and women's track teams are home Saturday as they host the annual Jim Thorpe Invitational. Check out the GoPSUsports.com calendar of events .

Men's Swimming and Diving to National Championships
Second-seeded junior Pat Schirk leads a crew of Nittany Lions headed to the NCAA Championships, which will be held this weekend at the University of Washington. Schirk will compete in the 200 backstroke and will be joined by teammates Sean Biedermann, Vincent Reydams, Sean Swanepoel and Jason Goldner. Awesome April
Penn State is the host of two Big Ten Championships, an NCAA regional, the Blue/White Game, Beaver Stadium's first-ever concert and the men's volleyball EIVA championships this April. The first weekend of April Rec Hall will host the Big Ten Men's Gymnastics Championships on April 4 and 5. The following weekend the Women's NCAA Gymnastics Regionals will be held at Rec Hall on April 12. The Blue White game will be played at Beaver Stadium April 19 at 2:30 p.m., the Big Ten Women's Golf Championship will be held April 24 - 27, and the EIVA semifinals and finals will be played at Rec Hall on April 24 and 25.
